Bench Rest Sand Bags

We don't usually advertise products for individuals on our website, but these Bench Rest Sand Bags manufactured by Tony Salvador are quickly becoming very popular among the shooters here at River Oaks Range. Our own training department has purchased a large quantity of these quality bags. Because we've been asked about them so many times, we decided to post info on these bags for Tony. Click HERE for a popup information window.

Tea Party Straight Talk on KYOS 1480 Radio

David Thelen, a well know member here at River Oaks Range, is giving a series of interviews at KYOS about the need for firearms in our society.  He states his purpose as follows:

"The people of the United States have been called to a "national discussion" about gun violence in the aftermath of Sandy Hook.   Instead of focusing on an even-handed dialogue, the conversation lurched toward one thing: gun control/bans.  It seems to me that the media and many leaders are stuck in sound bites that provide limited information about this important topic.

My interviews are an attempt to discuss the law and practical issues associated with the consequences of how we, as citizens, either renew or abandon something that even the United States Supreme Court recently concluded is "fundamental" to preserving our country's scheme of "ordered liberty"  --  the Second Amendment.  There are many ways to address Sandy Hook's varied issues, even guns, that are simply not being pursued or addressed in our "national discussion."  If we skip this chance, we may miss our generation's opportunity to talk to our neighbors about the principles that animate liberty in a free country.

While they are available, please follow these links to the interviews:
A Note on these broadcast. Some “sections” of these interviews may contain other community information before the actual  “Gun Talk” starts.

*** River Oaks Range Preamble ***

Safety First Shooting Association is a 501(c)4 nonprofit corporation which operates the River Oaks Range on private property. The Association was formed to promote Firearms Training and Safety to the Community. To this end we are organized to provide training opportunities and venues to support Firearms classes, public service events, various outreach programs to the general public, and educational opportunities related to the shooting sports. While we do operate a shooting range, our purpose is to provide education and training. Membership is not required to participate in the education and training opportunities presented by this Association. As an Association, Members are encouraged to attend any or all training’s they desire or have an interest in. All education and training opportunities take precedence over general range activities. While our intent is to keep class fees to a minimum, some course materials will have a small cost associated, although this may be alleviated by grants and donations to the education aims of the Association.

This Association is dedicated to the promotion of the shooting sports and firearms safety. Our membership provides specific training in the use of firearms and firearms safety, while conducting classes and events in several shooting sport disciplines for the general public and our community.

The range and all it’s activities are run by VOLUNTEERRange & Non-Range Members, Board Members and Staff
