Midvalley Defensive Shooters will hold an IDPA classifier on Saturday, July 31 starting at 9:00am. If you need to get classified for any upcoming matches, just want to get classified or try and move up in rating, this is the time to do so. Classifiers can take awhile to run through each shooter so there may be some wait if everyone shows up at the same time. We’re asking $5.00 to help refill the range kitty jar.

WORLD CLASS TRAINING OPPORTUNITY AT SFSA
On November 6-7, 2010, Bruce Gray, President of Grayguns, Inc., will be offering his signature course, Practical Fundamentals, at SFSA. The course requires pre-registration and the two day cost is $400.00.
Practical Fundamentals will involve active learning about nine key components of shooting. These nine components will be systematically presented to illuminate areas where individuals require refinement as well as to empower participants to further refine their ability, after the class is over. This all happens in a safe environment, both for shooting and learning, intended to result in a participants improved ability to place center mass hits on their target at a high rate of fire. Interested in more information about Practical Fundamentals? Then visit an article which Bruce authored entitled, “Grayguns Practical Fundamentals, Who is it for?”
Bruce Gray holds the highest classification in all three action shooting disciplines, NRA, USPSA/IPSC and IDPA. His competition accomplishments include both international and national titles as well as equipment innovation and coaching. He currently serves his community as a deputy sheriff when he is not gunsmithing, doing research, teaching or writing. Jerry Jones, Grayguns Director of Training, is POST certified to instruct at the academy level in multiple disciplines, which include firearms, sniper operations, SWAT and TASER. He is a deputy sheriff and is currently assigned to a multi-jurisdictional SWAT team.

***River Oaks Range Priorities ***
Safety First Shooting Association is a 501C4 nonprofit corporation which operates the River Oaks Range on private property. The Association was formed to promote Firearms Training and Safety to the Community. To this end we are organized to provide training opportunities and venues to support Firearms classes, public service events, various outreach programs to the general public, and educational opportunities related to the shooting sports. While we do operate a shooting range, our purpose is to provide education and training. Membership is not required to participate in the education and training opportunities presented by this Association. As an Association, Members are encouraged to attend any or all training’s they desire or have an interest in. All education and training opportunities take precedence over general Range activities. While our intent is to keep class fees to a minimum, some course materials will have a small cost associated, although this may be alleviated by grants and donations to the education aims of the Association. Please browse our calendar or contact for specific education needs.
The range and all it’s activities are run by “VOLUNTEER” Range Members,Board Members and Staff
